The honour was presented in the presence of Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Office.

The achievement reflects Sharjah Police’s efforts to develop facilities and services that meet the needs of senior citizens, enhance their quality of life, and support Sharjah’s position as an age-friendly city.

Five facilities honoured

The winning facilities included the main building of the Sharjah Police, the Embalming Centre at the Criminal Evidence and Laboratories Department, the Correctional Institution, the Al Hamriyah Comprehensive Police Station and the Al Suyoh Comprehensive Police Station.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Ibrahim Mesbah Al Ajel, Director-General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations; Major General Dr Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Director-General of the General Department of Resources and Support Services; Major General Omar Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Director-General of the General Department of Criminal Security and Ports; and Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar, Director-General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention.

Supporting senior citizens

The award reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to creating an institutional environment that takes into account the needs of senior citizens and facilitates their access to its facilities and services.

The achievement will encourage further development of facilities and services across police units and reinforce age-friendly practices within the institutional work system, thereby supporting inclusive services that meet the needs of all community groups.
