Sharjah24: Parma have become the third Serie A club to change manager this season, appointing former Italy international Alberto Gilardino to succeed Carlos Cuesta, dismissed earlier this week. The club, currently 15th in the table and owned by American businessman Kyle Krause, announced on Tuesday evening that the 44-year-old has signed until the end of the season, with an option to extend for two further years.

Gilardino has been without a job since Pisa sacked him in January 2026, after he had won one league game, drawn 11 and lost 11. A 2006 World Cup winner with 57 caps and 17 goals for Italy, he played for Parma between 2002 and 2005. As a manager, he led Genoa back to the top flight in 2023 and kept them up the following season with an 11th-placed finish, before leaving in November 2024.
