The visit took place on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at the organisation’s headquarters in Al Barashi. The delegation, led by Suleiman Al Hammadi, Head of School Transport Operations and School Transport Adviser at Emirates Transport, was received by Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, Director-General of SCHS, along with several directors and officials.
The visit aimed to familiarise the delegation with the programmes and services provided by SCHS and to learn about its experience in education, rehabilitation, training and empowerment.
Al Yafei briefed the delegation on the organisation’s departments and branches, as well as the services and programmes it provides for people of determination. She also outlined its integrated approach to education, rehabilitation, training, care and empowerment.
She highlighted key initiatives to meet the needs of people of determination, enhance their capabilities and independence, and provide support services for their families to improve their quality of life and promote their participation and inclusion in society.
The delegation also toured Al Wafa School for Capacity Development, where it learned about its programmes and services, its methods for developing students’ abilities and skills, and its efforts to support their independence and opportunities for community participation.
The two sides subsequently met at the SCHS headquarters to discuss areas of cooperation and partnership, explore opportunities for joint initiatives supporting people of determination, and exchange expertise and knowledge.
Al Hammadi said the visit reflects Emirates Transport’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with SCHS and to exploring new areas of partnership and knowledge exchange to support people of determination and to enhance the quality of services provided to them and their families.
“We place students’ safety and comfort among our top priorities and believe that providing safe, accessible and suitable school transport for students with determination is essential to empowering them, supporting their educational journey, enhancing their independence and improving their quality of life,” he said.
He added that the visit offers an important opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of students’ needs and to explore how the expertise and capabilities of both sides can be used to develop a transport experience that takes into account safety, comfort and accessibility requirements.
Al Hammadi praised the specialised programmes and services provided by SCHS, as well as its efforts to educate, rehabilitate and empower people of determination.
He said the two sides look forward to exploring cooperation to develop specialised transport services and solutions, enhance facilities for students, exchange expertise and knowledge, and study joint initiatives that create a sustainable impact for students and their families.
Al Yafei said the visit marks an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the two sides and enhancing joint coordination in the interests of students with disabilities and their families.
She highlighted the importance of developing cooperation to facilitate students’ mobility and to provide additional facilities that support their safe and easy access to educational and rehabilitation services.
Al Yafei noted that integrated efforts among relevant institutions help create a more supportive and suitable environment for people with disabilities, enhance the quality of services for them and their families, and support their rights, empowerment and community participation.
She emphasised that strengthening partnerships with community institutions is an important part of SCHS’s efforts to establish an integrated community system that supports the rights and empowerment of people with disabilities.
“Cooperation between institutions is a key factor in transforming social responsibility into sustainable initiatives,” Al Yafei said, adding that SCHS is committed to building partnerships based on integration and knowledge exchange to develop services and create greater opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in and integrate into society.
She concluded that the Emirates Transport delegation’s visit opens the way for new areas of cooperation, noting that joint work between government entities and specialised disability institutions can generate initiatives that draw on the capabilities and expertise of both sides and translate their shared commitment to the community into tangible and sustainable outcomes.
The visit forms part of the two organisations’ efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation, exchange expertise and explore effective partnerships that support people with disabilities and reinforce inclusion, empowerment and social responsibility in Sharjah.
