The Raptors confirmed Leonard’s return in a statement following his stint with the Canadian team during the 2018-19 season. The move came after the NBA concluded its investigation earlier this month and the Clippers announced they would comply with the penalties imposed on the team.

Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said in a statement late Monday: “We are very excited to welcome Kawhi back to Toronto. His impact on our organisation, our city and our country is undeniable, and he embodies the competitive spirit and championship mindset we value.”

“We believe his leadership, experience and talent will help us as we continue to build towards winning another championship,” he added.

Leonard was acquired in exchange for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick and future draft picks.
