Dr Aisha Bukhatir Al Shamsi, who is the Secretary-General of the Council, stated that Emirati women have shown excellence in a number of fields and highlighted education and knowledge as the main factors in empowering women and in strengthening their position in the UAE's development journey.

She stated that, thanks to the guidance and instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Sharjah has created an educational and academic environment which offers women a wide range of opportunities for learning, development, and the realization of their ambitions. The Council also has a number of highly qualified Emirati women who help in achieving its objectives.

In order to celebrate the occasion, the Council arranged gatherings, dialogue sessions and a variety of other activities for its female employees. The Council also reasserted its commitment to supporting women by offering scholarship programmes for citizens and children of Emirati mothers in Sharjah, with the aim of developing national talent and allowing women to progress in both their academic and professional careers while at the same time contributing to innovation and sustainable development.
