Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), in cooperation with the Al Dhaid branch of the Sharjah Charity International (SCI), reviewed the circumstances of a number of needy families in Al Dhaid area during a coordination meeting attended by representatives of several relevant entities.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the integration of efforts and direct support and assistance in line with the families’ needs, helping to promote their social and living stability and improve their quality of life.

The meeting discussed the financial challenges and outstanding obligations facing some families, as well as mechanisms for conducting comprehensive case assessments by examining their social and economic circumstances and identifying their needs.

This approach helps determine appropriate interventions and direct available support according to the requirements of each case, strengthening the effectiveness of responses to the different circumstances families may face.

The meeting also explored ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among the participating entities and exchanged proposals and ideas on community initiatives and programmes that could be implemented jointly.

Such cooperation would help ensure a faster response to the actual needs of families and residents of Al Dhaid, while supporting social protection and development efforts.

Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Social Assistance Department at the Sharjah Social Services Department, said the department’s participation reflected its commitment to strengthening communication with the community and activating partnerships with charitable and community organisations.

She said this contributes to comprehensively assessing families’ circumstances, identifying their needs and finding appropriate solutions that promote their stability, empowerment and quality of life.
Al Zaabi explained that the social assistance services provided by the department are based on an integrated system of standards and regulations that ensures support is directed towards those most in need and responds to different economic and social circumstances.

She highlighted the importance of unifying the efforts of relevant entities to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need and that emergency cases are addressed according to the nature and requirements of each case.

Al Zaabi added that integration among the relevant entities is a key pillar in enhancing the effectiveness of social and charitable work by unifying efforts, exchanging expertise and complementing roles. This enables the development of high-quality initiatives that respond to community needs and support families in overcoming the challenges they face.

The meeting was attended by Sultan bin Dalmook and Mohammed Abdullah bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Director of the Sharjah Charity International, along with representatives of the Sharjah Social Services Department.

Attendees also included Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Social Assistance Department; Mona Hamza, Head of the Social Security Section at the Al Hamriyah branch; Hessa Al Suwaidi from the Family Development Department in Al Dhaid; and Maryam Ali, sector coordinator.
