Albudaiwi described the attack as a treacherous assault on places of worship and Islamic holy sites, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a provocation to Muslims around the world.

Escalation and lack of accountability

He said the incident was part of a continuing pattern of violations and attacks against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, holding the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible. He added that the lack of accountability for settler attacks has contributed to a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.

Albudaiwi stressed that targeting places of worship violates the sanctity of holy sites and breaches international conventions that protect religious sites and freedom of worship.

Call for urgent international action

He also called on the international community, the UN Security Council, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to stop these violations, hold those responsible accountable, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people and their holy sites.

He warned that continued international silence encourages further attacks and undermines efforts to achieve security and peace in the region.

Reaffirmation of GCC support for Palestine

Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people and for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
