Sharjah 24 – QNA: The Jordanian foreign ministry condemned the escalating Israeli settler 'terrorism' against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

In its statement on Saturday, the Ministry cited the most recent attacks that targeted several villages, where Israeli settlers burnt homes, agricultural lands, and vehicles, in addition to uprooting numerous trees and assaulting Palestinians.

Rejection of extremist policies and accountability

Jordanian foreign ministry spokesperson, Fouad Majali affirmed Amman's absolute rejection of Israeli settlers' reprehensible attacks. These attacks reflect the Israeli government's extremist policies and illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, which fuel extremism and violence against the Palestinian people and undermine chances of achieving peace based on the two-state solution, he added.

Majali also held Israel, the occupying power, accountable for these attacks.

Call for international action and two-state solution

The Jordanian foreign ministry's spokesperson urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, and compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop settler attacks, hold the perpetrators of such crimes accountable, and ensure justice.

He also called for fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, being the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
