Spain requests four EU firefighting planes to tackle wildfires

Sharjah24 - AFP: Spain requested four firefighting aircraft through the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism, which coordinates disaster assistance across the bloc, to help battle several wildfires near Madrid, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.
Greece has already agreed to send two Canadair water-bombing planes in response to this request, it added.
