Sharjah 24 – AFP: A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck New Zealand on Thursday, rattling buildings and prompting authorities to briefly issue a temporary tsunami warning.

According to the National Emergency Management Agency, the epicenter was located approximately 40 kilometers north of Te Anau, a key gateway to the popular tourist destination of Fiordland. Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage.
