Sharjah 24 – QNA: The Arab League has strongly condemned the ongoing Iranian attacks targeting Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan. The League reaffirmed its absolute rejection of any actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab nations, or that threaten their collective security and stability.

Arab League calls attacks unjustifiable

In a statement issued on Sunday, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy described the attacks as completely unjustifiable and emphasized that the security of Arab states is indivisible. He stressed that any violation targeting the sovereignty of an Arab country demands a unified and decisive Arab response.

Concern over regional security and maritime safety

The League also criticized Iran's persistent policies and actions that undermine regional security and stability. The statement noted that these activities violate international law, the UN Charter, UN Security Council Resolution 2817, and the fundamental principles of good neighborly relations.

Additionally, the Arab League condemned repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels, warning that such actions directly threaten the safety and freedom of international navigation.

Support for affected Arab States

The Arab League reaffirmed its full solidarity with the affected Arab nations. It expressed complete support for all legitimate measures these countries take to defend their sovereignty, protect their security, and safeguard their populations.

Call for UN Security Council action

The League concluded by calling on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities. It urged the council to take effective action to halt these violations, uphold international law, and secure international navigation routes, thereby contributing to broader regional security and stability.
