Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, has strongly condemned what he described as Iran’s aggressive attacks targeting Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan using missiles and drones.

Attacks described as violation of sovereignty

Al Yamahi said the attacks represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty of Arab states, a serious breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

He described the actions as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, while undermining regional and international efforts to reduce tensions and promote peace and security.

Arab Parliament reaffirms solidarity

In a statement issued today, Al Yamahi affirmed the Arab Parliament’s full and unwavering solidarity with the affected countries and its support for all measures they take to protect their national security, preserve their sovereignty and safeguard citizens and residents.

He stressed that any violation of the security, sovereignty or territorial integrity of an Arab state poses a direct threat to the wider Arab national security system and requires a firm response from Arab countries and the international community.

Call for international action

The Speaker called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations, to fulfil their political, legal and moral responsibilities by taking urgent and decisive action to stop the attacks.

He urged efforts to hold those responsible accountable, ensure respect for states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, and uphold international law and the UN Charter.

Al Yamahi stressed that such measures are essential to prevent further escalation and preserve regional and international peace and stability.
