Engineer Amal Abdullah Al Zarooni from the GIS Department at Sharjah Digital said the forum strengthens cooperation and knowledge exchange, while accelerating the adoption of innovative geospatial solutions. She told Sharjah24 that it helps drive digital transformation and improve government efficiency by using spatial data to develop services and enhance performance.

Al Zarooni explained that the forum brings together federal, local and semi-government entities, academic institutions, other emirate governments, and private sector companies specialising in geospatial solutions. It showcases the latest GIS applications and their role in advancing data-driven decision-making.

She added that the forum helps deepen collaboration, share successful experiences, and speed up the adoption of advanced geospatial technologies that support sustainable development and more accurate, efficient decision-making. The second edition reflects the department’s commitment to embedding GIS as a key tool in advancing digital government in Sharjah.
