Sharjah 24 – QNA: Egypt has urged the United States and Iran to reach a swift agreement to diffuse mounting regional tensions, emphasising that any sustainable resolution must address the security concerns of all parties, particularly neighboring Middle Eastern nations. The state warned that a failure to de-escalate could severely worsen existing security, economic, and geopolitical challenges across the region.

Call for comprehensive deal addressing key flashpoints

In an official statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry stressed that a comprehensive deal should focus on restoring long-term stability and resolving critical flashpoints, notably Iran’s nuclear program and the safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, thereby mitigating the risk of wider conflict.

Urging adherence to international law and diplomacy

The ministry called on all involved sides to adhere strictly to international law and the UN Charter, urging a unified pivot toward diplomatic and political channels.

Linking regional stability to Palestinian issue

Furthermore, Egypt underscored that lasting stability cannot be achieved without addressing broader regional dynamics. It called for renewed international focus on the Palestinian cause, highlighting that improving conditions in Gaza and the West Bank remains vital to securing a sustainable and peaceful future for the region.
