Dozens rescued after vessel departs Libya

The vessel, which had left Libya with around 60 people on board, is believed to have overturned about 45 nautical miles southeast of Malta. A fishing boat in the area rescued approximately 48 survivors, according to authorities.

Search and rescue operations continue

The Italian Coast Guard said it joined Malta-led rescue efforts and has so far recovered 10 bodies, with searches still ongoing in the area. The incident highlights the continued risks of the Central Mediterranean migration route, which has seen hundreds of deaths this year.
