Sharjah24: As part of the Atlas Lions' preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Morocco outclassed Madagascar with a 4-0 victory in an international friendly at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Ismael Saibari scored twice (3rd and 24th minutes), while substitute Soufiane Rahimi added a third from the penalty spot in the 77th minute, before Ayoub El Kaabi completed the scoring in the 86th minute.

Useful test ahead of Norway clash

The match served as a valuable test for coach Mohammed Ouahbi's side ahead of their encounter with Norway and star striker Erling Haaland on Sunday in New Jersey, United States.

The fixture also marked Ouahbi's first appearance in front of Moroccan fans since taking charge of the Atlas Lions in early March, succeeding Walid Regragui.

Road to the 2026 World Cup

The United States, Canada and Mexico will host the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring 48 teams for the first time, from June 11 to July 19.

Morocco will begin their World Cup campaign with a overwhelmed clash against five-time world champions Brazil on June 14, followed by Scotland on June 20 and Haiti five days later in Group C.
