Sharjah24 - AFP: US Central Command announced on Monday that it conducted “defensive” strikes targeting Iranian radar sites and drone command-and-control centres inside Iran.

Locations targeted

In a statement on the social platform X, The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strikes, carried out over Saturday and Sunday, hit areas in Gorok and Qeshm Island. It described the action as a response to Iran shooting down a US drone over international waters.

Military assets destroyed

According to the statement, US fighter jets destroyed Iranian air defences, a ground control station, and two drones that it said posed a threat to vessels operating in international waters.

No US casualties reported

CENTCOM confirmed that no US personnel were injured in the operations, adding that it would continue to protect US assets and interests against what it called unprovoked Iranian aggression amid the current ceasefire.
