Sharjah 24 – BNA: The Head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution said the Public Prosecution in the Kingdom of Bahrain has launched an investigation into a main organisation linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Wilayat al-Faqih ideology, involving members of a dissolved Islamic Scholars Council.

Ideological promotion and recruitment activities

He stated that the group promoted extremist ideology and sought to undermine national loyalty by encouraging allegiance to Iran’s Supreme Leader, while aiming to influence religious institutions such as mosques and seminaries and recruit individuals to its activities. Investigations also revealed alleged intimidation of opposing religious figures, fundraising operations, and the use of funds to support ideological promotion and related activities.

Detention of 41 suspects and financial measures taken

The Public Prosecution has interrogated 41 suspects, ordered their detention pending investigation, and taken measures to freeze assets and lift bank account confidentiality. It also seized materials promoting the ideology and traced financial transfers abroad, while confirming that investigations are still ongoing.
