China topped the standings with 25 medals (14 gold, 9 silver and 2 bronze), followed by India with 18 medals (9 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze), while Japan placed third with 17 medals (5 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze).
Major General Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mur, President of the UAE Athletics Federation, described the result as an exceptional achievement, particularly given the strength of the competing nations and the UAE’s participation with a group of promising young athletes.
He noted that the accomplishment was even more remarkable as the UAE competed with only 10 athletes, compared to several teams that fielded more than 50 competitors, highlighting the success of the federation’s talent development and preparation programmes.
Al Mur said the result supports the federation’s long-term strategy of building competitive pathways from Gulf and Arab competitions to continental and international championships. He congratulated the medal winners for their determination and praised the strong performances delivered by the entire national team throughout the event.
