Sharjah 24 – AFP: World No. 3 Iga Swiatek safely advanced to the fourth round of the French Open on Friday, securing a comfortable 6-4, 6-4 victory over fellow Pole Magda Linette. The four-time Roland Garros champion looked dominant in Paris, overcoming a slightly hesitant start to maintain her perfect streak of reaching the round of 16 in all eight of her tournament appearances since her 2019 debut.

Over in the men's draw, 15th-seeded Andrey Rublev battled his way into the fourth round with a grueling straight-sets win over Portugal's Nuno Borges. Rublev fought for two hours and 42 minutes to edge out Borges 7-5, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-2). The Russian will face either eighth seed Alex de Minaur of Australia or 26th seed Jakub Mensik of the Czech Republic in the next round.
