Simplicity is key
Fawzy began by grounding his comedy in the simple and familiar. “I create content in a simple way, and that’s why it reaches more people,” he said. “I try to connect with them every day through their daily trends and stories.” His reflections sparked nods and cheers from the young audience, many of whom said they see their own lives in his skits and improvised reactions.
Addressing the growing presence of AI in the creative sphere, Fawzy shared his balanced approach. “I might ask AI for a hint or a prompt,” he said with a smile, “but I never depend on it. All my reviews and reactions are spontaneous.” His comments resonated strongly with aspiring creators in the room, who voiced concerns about creativity becoming automated.
The appearance marked Fawzy’s first visit to SIBF, and his enthusiasm was instant. “I love it so much,” he said. “It’s my first time here, but if I’m invited next year, I’ll definitely come again.”
Humour and honesty
Audience members praised both his humour and honesty.
“Islam makes comedy feel effortless—it’s like he’s talking about my own life,” said Amira Khalid, a university student from Sharjah.
Mohammed Ali, a digital marketing student, added: “What I liked most was his honesty about not overusing AI. It’s refreshing to see creators still valuing real emotion.”
For young content creator Sara Mansoor, the appeal was the warmth Fawzy brought to the room. “The session was packed, and yet it felt like a personal conversation.”
