UEFA confirmed that the Euro 2028 final will take place at Wembley Stadium on 9 July, with the opening match scheduled for 9 June in Cardiff. The tournament will feature 51 matches involving 24 national teams divided into six groups, maintaining the format introduced at Euro 2016.
Matches will be held across nine stadiums in eight cities, including Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and London.
UEFA stated that eight of the nine host stadiums, excluding Wembley, will host the Round of 16 matches.
Quarter-final fixtures will be split between Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, and Wembley, with winners required to play in different stadiums to ensure fair competition.
Wembley Stadium will host the entire final week, including the semi-finals on 4 and 5 July, followed by the tournament final on 9 July. The iconic venue, long associated with major international football moments, will once again take centre stage for Europe’s biggest football event.
