The Asian Sailing and Rowing Federation (ASAF) granted the UAE the honour of hosting the continental cup following a visit by its president, Dr Malav Shroff, to Al Hamriyah Club last August. Dr Shroff praised the club’s outstanding infrastructure and facilities.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, highlighted that hosting the Asian Cup reflects the UAE’s strong position on the continental and global sports map. He noted that the event provides a platform for young sailors to showcase their talents and develop their skills in modern sailing.
Dr Malav Shroff expressed confidence in the UAE’s ability to successfully host the cup, emphasizing that the event will improve organisational standards and support the development of sailing while preparing a new generation of Asian champions.
His Excellency Hamid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, affirmed the club’s pride in hosting the Asian Youth Cup and confirmed that all preparations are in place to ensure the success of the event.
