Sharjah Co-op has announced the opening of a new permanent branch in Al Qatina 4 area of Mehathab suburb, with an investment of about AED 35 million. This new store has a design that beautifully connects the traditional styles of the emirate with a modern look while ensuring it meets high standards for environmental sustainability.
Majid Salem Al Junaid, the CEO of Sharjah Co-operative Society, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for their guidance and ongoing support, which played a vital role in speeding up the project's completion. He also thanked the Chairman and members of the Co-operative's Board of Directors, as well as all partner organizations and government agencies, for their hard work and dedication that helped make this project a reality in such a short time.
Al Junaid highlighted that opening a temporary store was a quick and effective way to meet the needs of the people living in Al Qatina. He also mentioned that Sharjah Co-op is dedicated to offering a convenient and modern shopping experience. To support this, they will launch a new "Yalla" delivery service through an app next week.
The CEO of Sharjah Co-op shared that the upcoming permanent store will cover about 7,000 square meters. Out of this, 4,500 square meters will be available for businesses, including a large supermarket that's 2,500 square meters in size. This supermarket will offer more than 20,000 different products. In addition, there will be 15 shops that cater to everything the community needs, such as restaurants, cafes, banking services, and healthcare options.
Al Junaid shared that the project will feature shade structures for outdoor seating, plenty of shaded parking areas, and spaces specifically for bicycles. It will also include eight fast chargers for electric vehicles and a facility to treat wastewater, which will be reused for watering green spaces. Additionally, there will be separate areas for recycling waste and a system that helps manage energy use and air conditioning in the buildings.
He emphasized the Sharjah Cooperative Society's dedication to serving the community and ensuring customer satisfaction. Al Junaid also expressed his appreciation to all the partners and government agencies that helped bring these Co-op projects to life, making sure they meet the needs and desires of the residents of the emirate.
