The system consists of a smartphone application and a new digital platform offering a range of services to customers across different regions of the UAE.
This advanced solution represents a fully integrated system within the UAE and is the first of its kind in the region for electric vehicles. It supports a wide network managed by ION, comprising more than 100 ultra-fast charging stations, in collaboration with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority.
ION showcased its new platform to partners and stakeholders in the sector, emphasising its role in providing an effective solution to support the region’s electric vehicle infrastructure, particularly in light of the noticeable growth in EV users.
The platform enhances the charging experience by providing a single connected ecosystem that brings together drivers, operators, property owners, fleet managers, and relevant government authorities. Drivers can now locate nearby charging stations through one application, while operators and government entities can gain accurate insights into network performance and management tools to promote growth and revenue.
His Excellency Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH, stated that the launch of the ION app represents a pivotal milestone for the company and its partners and a significant achievement supporting broader electrification efforts across the region. The app complements the comprehensive EV charging infrastructure provided by ION, encouraging more companies to enter the market, deliver charging solutions and infrastructure, and enhance the end-user experience by facilitating access to charging stations and expanding their availability.
