Her Excellency Mariam Al Hammadi, Director General of NAMA, highlighted that the programme integrates Emirati heritage with modern entrepreneurial tools, creating a practical platform for women to innovate and lead in agribusiness. She emphasised that this initiative serves as a blueprint for future projects designed to strengthen food systems and expand women’s roles in shaping sustainable economies.
Developed in collaboration with Al Dhaid University, the programme offers a mix of workshops, group discussions, and practical field applications. Participants will acquire expertise in organic farming, hydroponics, crop preservation, and product safety, while also learning business planning, pricing, and marketing strategies. The curriculum further includes guidance on licensing, regulations, and market access for home-based food production.
The training comprises nine interconnected modules, covering both agricultural practices and agribusiness development, from soil preparation and pest management to value-added product creation, branding, and storytelling.
By the end of the six-week programme, participants will be prepared to launch and expand home-based agribusinesses, supporting women’s empowerment, food security, and a sustainable future for Sharjah and the UAE.
