Pink October activities are being implemented in cooperation with several hospitals and community organisations across the emirate's cities and regions. This participation comes as part of the club's commitment to spreading health awareness and promoting a culture of early screening as a fundamental step towards prevention and recovery.
Sheikha Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club, affirmed that the club is keen to be an active partner in the global campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer annually. She emphasised that the "Pink October" events, with their comprehensive educational and health programmes, represent a message of solidarity with every woman and an opportunity to spread the culture of early screening as the most important means of prevention and saving lives.
Al Suwaidi added that Sharjah Ladies Club believes that comprehensive health awareness, which combines sports, education, and creativity, contributes to enhancing quality of life and supporting women's journey towards a healthier and more hopeful future.
Al Suwaidi pointed out that this year's "Pink October" events reflect the club's commitment to integrating health education with entertainment and creativity, to provide a comprehensive experience that meets the needs of women of all ages. In addition to lectures and screenings, sports activities and creative workshops provide a space to enhance community communication and spread a spirit of solidarity and hope among participants.
The "Pink October" events at Sharjah Ladies Club and its branches provide a platform for meeting and exchanging experiences, renewing confidence in women's ability to face health challenges with strength and determination, and highlighting the importance of early screening in preventing breast cancer in a supportive community environment.
The activities will kick off on October 8 at the Sharjah Ladies Club branch in Khorfakkan with an awareness lecture in cooperation with Sheikh Khalifa Hospital at Qidfa Health Centre, in addition to the "One Pink Step Makes a Difference" campaign at the Ibdaa Centre.
A comprehensive event will be held at the Dibba Al Hisn branch on October 14 at 10:00 AM in cooperation with Al Sharq Hospital, the Public Health Centre, the Dibba Al Hisn Public Library, the Family Development Center, and the Community Prevention Department. The event will include a dialogue session titled "Your Awareness Is Life... and Your Hope Is Salvation," a soap-making workshop, a pink Zumba session, and a mini-exhibition for productive families with the participation of Marasi Restaurant.
Wadi Al Helo branch will host an awareness lecture on Wednesday, October 15, at 10:00 AM, in cooperation with Hatta Hospital. The Al Madam branch will organise an event on October 16, starting with an awareness lecture on early detection methods, in partnership with NMC Hospital. Special giveaways will be provided. At the main club of Sharjah Ladies Club, the activities will kick off on October 19th, starting with a Pink Yoga session organised by 180° Fitness Centre from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event will also host a mobile clinic in collaboration with the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, offering free checkups for women from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The activities include haircuts and donations to the Friends of Cancer Patients Association at the Orchid Beauty Boutique at its headquarters, where the service is offered free of charge throughout the year.
Al Hamriya branch will continue the programme on October 23rd with an event held at 10:00 AM in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and Hanover Clinic. This event will include an awareness workshop, health consultations, a photo booth, and a retail booth.
Al Dhaid branch will also host a health workshop titled "Pink Steps for a Healthy Life" on October 29th, in collaboration with the Itmanan Foundation. This workshop will include a yoga session, free checkups, and pink sports challenges. The programme will conclude at the Al Batayeh branch on October 30th with an event held in Al Batayeh Park. For women, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in cooperation with Al Bataeh Municipality and Al Dhaid Wildlife Centre.
