Al Midfa’s re-election recognises his continued efforts in promoting the exhibitions and conferences industry across the Arab region and enhancing AUIEC’s standing regionally and internationally.
The announcement was made during a regular virtual meeting chaired by Al Midfa, with participation from AUIEC Secretary-General Mahmoud Youssef Al-Jarrah and representatives from 18 member countries. The growing membership reflects AUIEC’s expanding influence and role in fostering economic cooperation through exhibitions.
The Board emphasized the importance of deeper collaboration among Arab states to further develop the exhibition and conference sector. The increase in member states was highlighted as a strategic step in strengthening trade ties and economic integration.
The meeting’s agenda included proposals and action plans, including organising the Arab Trade Exhibition 2026 in Syria, and hosting the Events Management Forum in collaboration with Expo Centre Sharjah
These events aim to enhance knowledge exchange and implement international best practices in the sector.
The Board also acknowledged Mauritania’s progress in building exhibition infrastructure, signaling its readiness to host major regional and international events.
Mohammad Hamza, Director General of the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Markets, was appointed to the AUIEC Board of Directors and elected Vice President.
Al Midfa expressed gratitude for his re-election, stating it motivates him to further advance the Arab exhibitions and conference industry and strengthen AUIEC’s role as a unified platform for cooperation.
He reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to expanding strategic partnerships and supporting economic cooperation among Arab nations through the exhibition sector.
Mahmoud Youssef Al-Jarrah emphasised the importance of AUIEC’s regular meetings in shaping development agendas, exchanging insights, and highlighting the sector’s role in sustainability and national economic growth.
