The institute highlighted its deep belief that Emirati women are not just recipients of heritage, but active transmitters and preservers of it. From ancestral homes led by wise mothers and grandmothers to modern roles in academia and public service, women have long sustained and enriched the nation's cultural identity.
His Excellency Dr Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, emphasised the significance of marking this day at the institute: “Emirati women have always been a model of dedication and strength. They have supported men in building the nation, led families, shaped future generations, and preserved our values and heritage. Today, they are pioneers in leadership and across professional sectors, embodying resilience and commitment.”
The celebration featured a variety of heritage and cultural activities, including dialogue sessions with influential Emirati women,live performances showcasing traditional crafts and skills, and recognition and honors for female icons who have promoted national identity through their work in diverse fields
The event served not only as a tribute to over fifty years of Emirati women's contributions, but also as a call to inspire future generations. It reflected a clear message: heritage is not just a legacy of the past, but a living force shaping the future, with women playing a central role in this journey of empowerment and identity.
