Sharjah 24 – AFP: Arsenal secured their second consecutive Premier League win with a commanding 5‑0 victory over Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in Round 2.

Timber, Gyökeres shine in remarkable performances

Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with a precision header from a Declan Rice corner and later added a second goal, earning man-of-the-match honors. He also recorded an assist.

Viktor Gyökeres netted his first two Premier League goals for Arsenal—one from open play and another from the penalty spot, converted after 15-year-old debutant Max Dowman won the spot kick.

New signing Eze unveiled; debut of 15yearold Dowman

Before kick-off, Arsenal confirmed the £67.5 million signing of England international Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

During the match, Max Dowman, aged just 15, made a standout Premier League debut by winning a crucial penalty, showcasing composure beyond his years.

Injuries cloud the victory

The win was overshadowed by injuries to key players: Captain Martin Ødegaard suffered a shoulder issue, while Bukayo Saka left the pitch with a muscular injury. Both absences raise concerns ahead of Arsenal’s next fixture.
