The Gunners showed their intent from the opening whistle. They took the lead in the 14th minute after a strong run from Martin Odegaard ended with Trossard calmly finishing, even as he slipped during the shot. Arsenal doubled their advantage with a slick move down the right, as Saka’s run and Merino’s clever flick set up Gabriel Martinelli for a simple finish.
The hosts’ challenge became steeper when Davis received a straight red card for raking his studs down Saka’s calf just after the half-hour mark. Despite being a man down, Ipswich attempted to stay competitive, with George Hirst going close early in the second half—but their efforts yielded no shots on target.
Trossard netted his second goal in the 69th minute, and teenage talent Ethan Nwaneri capped off the win with a late fourth goal. The victory moves Arsenal to 66 points, keeping them in second place and pushing Ipswich closer to relegation in 18th, with just 21 points.
Despite Liverpool being in pole position, Trossard remained optimistic after the game: "We don't need to look at them (Liverpool), we just have to keep going like this and take it game by game. A good win today, and we need to keep pushing forward."
He added: "We are there for a reason, we have been doing very well in the Champions League. We have to keep believing."
