Sharjah 24 – WAM: The UAE Ministry of Interior has successfully extradited two international fugitives to the authorities in France and Belgium. The arrests were carried out by Dubai Police in response to Red Notices issued by the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).

Fugitive wanted by France for drug trafficking

One of the extradited individuals is considered among the most wanted by French authorities on charges of drug trafficking within an organised criminal network operating across several European countries. He was reportedly a key assistant to the leader of the criminal organisation.

Fugitive wanted by Belgium for gang-related drug crimes

The second fugitive is highly sought by Belgian authorities in connection with drug trafficking and for his active involvement in a criminal gang operating within Belgium.

A strong message against transnational crime

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that these extraditions demonstrate the UAE’s unwavering commitment to combating transnational organised crime. They also highlight the country's dedication to international cooperation with partner nations to uphold justice and reinforce security and stability at both the regional and global levels.
