Led by instructors Kholoud Mohammed and Sara Abdullah, the workshop introduced young participants to the basics of environmental recycling and the value of converting organic waste into natural fertiliser. The activity aimed to boost sustainability awareness and align with Sharjah’s commitment to green development and environmental responsibility.
Following the workshop, children took part in an interactive session titled “Sharjah, My Joy”, presented by Mohammed Rashid Rashoud. The session involved a quiz on Sharjah’s landmarks, history, and prominent personalities, encouraging youth to engage with their heritage and deepen their sense of national identity.
The “Huna Al Sharjah” exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Club, and Mohammed Ali Al Dhahouri, Head of Cultural and Community Activities. Visitors explored exhibits reflecting Sharjah’s heritage and civilisation through interactive displays, photos, and models that strengthened participants’ ties to their emirate.
In an exciting off-site activity, club members joined a water sports festival hosted by the Sharjah Marine Sports Club at Al Heera Beach. The event featured a series of water-based challenges that promoted teamwork, physical fitness, and enjoyment in a spirited outdoor setting.
Staying true to the programme’s athletic core, the club also held mini indoor tournaments in football, handball, basketball, and karate. Overseen by qualified Emirati coaches, the competitions helped young participants develop athletic ability and positive sporting behaviour.
Club Chairman Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa expressed pride in the quality and variety of the week’s events, describing “Huna Al Sharjah” as an extension of the emirate’s efforts to nurture future generations through well-rounded programmes that combine learning, fun, and values.
Mohammed Ali Al Dhahouri added that “Our Unique holiday” is not just a seasonal initiative but a national project aimed at cultivating youth who are informed, responsible, and connected to their cultural roots. He reaffirmed the club’s commitment to offering a purposeful and engaging summer experience in line with Sharjah Sports Council’s vision.
