Al Amiri was chosen after serving as an assistant coach for the first team over the past three seasons, where he played an effective role in achieving commendable results, notably securing the second place in both the President's Cup and the General League. Alongside the coaching staff, he successfully built a cohesive team of players and elevated the team's collective performance.
Al Amiri is recognized as one of the prominent technical talents in Emirati handball, with a coaching record spanning over two decades. He has worked with several clubs, including Al Shaab, Sharjah, and Ittihad Kalba, and has previously been part of the coaching staff for the UAE's military, youth, and women's national teams, achieving advanced positions both locally and internationally. He has also obtained several specialized training courses, including the International C and D licenses from the International Handball Federation, along with training experiences in Germany and Slovenia.
In his first statement after signing, coach Ibrahim Al Amiri expressed his pride in Al Mleiha Club's confidence in him, stating that leading the first team represents a significant responsibility and an important opportunity to build on the achievements of past seasons. He added, "We have a promising group of players, and we will strive, along with the coaching staff and the board members of Al Mleiha Club, to develop performance and enhance the spirit of competition, aiming for an exceptional season that meets the club's aspirations and its fans."
For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of Al Mleiha Sports Club, expressed confidence in Coach Al Amiri's ability to lead the team to outstanding results, emphasizing that his selection was due to his diligent work over the past years and his understanding of the team's details and needs.
Al Khasouni highlighted that the handball team continues its intensive preparations for the upcoming season through an internal training camp and a comprehensive rehabilitation program aimed at enhancing the players' physical and technical readiness. The club has high ambitions for this new phase under the leadership of coach Ibrahim Al Amiri, focusing on stabilizing the coaching staff with a nationally recognized and committed coach, aiming for a successful season that solidifies the club's position among the top teams in the country.
