Hamdan bin Mohammed visits Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi

Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, conducted an official visit to Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi to inspect military units and assess operational readiness.

Warm welcome by senior defence officials

Upon his arrival, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan was received by Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Major General Staff Pilot Rashed Mohammed Al Shamsi, Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence; and a number of senior military officials.

Commending discipline and technological progress

During the tour, Sheikh Hamdan praised the discipline and operational excellence of the Armed Forces, highlighting their continuous advancement in military capabilities and their embrace of modern technologies to enhance defence preparedness.

Emphasis on readiness and national security

His Highness expressed his appreciation for the dedication and efficiency demonstrated by the Air Force and Air Defence units, affirming that their efforts contribute significantly to protecting the UAE’s sovereignty and resources.

"Our Armed Forces are fully equipped to maintain battlefield superiority and readiness to tackle any challenge, at any time," Sheikh Hamdan said.

Recognition of national talent and training

Sheikh Hamdan also commended the growing role of Emirati professionals in mastering advanced defence technologies, reinforcing that national security is a collective responsibility requiring continued training and readiness.

Tour of base facilities and systems

Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the command and control systems, as well as logistical and technical support infrastructure at the base—demonstrating the high level of operational capability within the UAE Air Force.

Visit to Air Warfare Centre

The tour included a visit to the Air Warfare Centre, where Sheikh Hamdan received an overview of its role in enhancing missile defence systems. The centre’s focus on training, simulation, testing, and localisation of defence knowledge was highlighted during the presentation.

Concluding his visit, Sheikh Hamdan extended his gratitude to all Air Force and Air Defence personnel for their unwavering dedication and service. He applauded their efforts in safeguarding the nation’s achievements and ensuring its continued security.
