Sharjah 24 – WAM: Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers' Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year for the third time.

Historic third win ties record with Henry

According to the BBC, Salah now joins Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as one of only two players to have won the award three times, highlighting his enduring impact on English football.

Dominant in the vote

The 32-year-old Egyptian forward earned more than 90% of the votes from the FWA’s 900 members. Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk came in second, with Newcastle's Alexander Isak in third and Arsenal’s Declan Rice in fourth.

Standout season for Liverpool

Salah’s award-winning season includes 28 Premier League goals and 18 assists in 35 appearances, playing a crucial role in Liverpool's title-winning campaign.
