Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), headed by Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director-General of ACTVET.

Review of programmes and initiatives in Al Ain Region

During the meeting, held at the Ruler Representative’s Court in Al Ain Region, H.H. Sheikh Hazza was briefed on initiatives and programmes implemented by ACTVET aimed at training and preparing national talent. These efforts focus on enhancing technical and professional skills to meet the current and future needs of the local labour market.

Focus on strategic vision and institutional expansion

The discussion included the centre’s strategic vision and ongoing plans, such as the expansion of Applied Technology Schools and the development of academic programmes at Fatima College of Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, and ADVETI. Initiatives also include integrating artificial intelligence solutions and expanding evening programmes.

Emphasis on innovation and knowledge-based economy

Sheikh Hazza stressed the importance of technical and vocational education in fostering a culture of innovation and supporting a knowledge-based economy. He emphasized adopting advanced technological solutions in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Preparing youth for future opportunities

His Highness underlined the significance of offering diverse academic and training programmes tailored to labour market needs. He highlighted the importance of providing integrated learning environments that equip students with quality skills and enhance their readiness to contribute to high-priority national sectors.

ACTVET’s ongoing contributions and leadership support

Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi reviewed the centre’s continued efforts to elevate technical and vocational education in Abu Dhabi. He outlined initiatives focused on modern teaching methods, advanced curricula, and attracting top-tier local and global expertise to strengthen the educational system.

Commitment to national development goals

Dr. Al Shamsi expressed gratitude for the leadership’s support and reaffirmed ACTVET’s commitment to aligning its programmes with national aspirations. He emphasised the role of the centre in preparing skilled talent to contribute to sustainable development in accordance with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

Established in 2010, the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training oversees the sector across the emirate. Its mission is to equip national talent with essential technical and vocational skills to support development goals in key sectors.
