Sharjah24: The Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council convened a meeting as part of the second ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term. The meeting was chaired by Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Chairman of the Committee, with the participation of members Dr Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Committee Rapporteur; Issa Abdulrahim Al Zarouni; Ali Salem Al Shamsi; and Ahmed Salem Humaidi Al Ketbi. Sumaya Jasem Mohammed, Committee Secretary, was also in attendance.

Held at the Council’s headquarters in Sharjah, the session explored ways to advance the committee’s work in accordance with its performance indicators. The discussions emphasised efforts to enhance public services in multiple areas, particularly healthcare and social support.
Supporting Sharjah’s vision for community wellbeing
The committee also examined how to further develop healthcare services in line with Sharjah’s overarching vision, as guided by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The aim is to elevate community health standards across the emirate.
Chair underscores need for ongoing development
Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Chairman of the Committee, underscored the importance of continuing the implementation of strategic plans, maintaining active engagement with relevant stakeholders, and assessing progress in service delivery. He highlighted the need to strengthen support for citizens, residents, and visitors alike.
Emphasis on expansion and prevention
He further called for bolstering efforts to expand the scope of social services and to upgrade healthcare sectors. The committee is prioritising early disease detection and the implementation of comprehensive preventative measures to ensure improved public health outcomes.
