Sharjah 24: Aisha Othman Al Balushi, the official spokesperson for the Cultural Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, shared details of the Sharjah Award for Gulf Women's Creativity ceremony, which began on Wednesday at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.

Organised by the Cultural Office, the event brought together distinguished Gulf women writers and creatives, celebrating eight winners across various artistic and literary fields.

Recognition across key creative fields

Al Balushi announced that the seventh edition of the award recognised eight winners in children's literature, Nabati poetry, and literary studies. She noted that the award serves as a pioneering platform to empower Gulf women creatives and emphasise their influence in the broader Arab cultural sphere.

Cultural Personality of the Year Award

In exclusive comments to Sharjah 24, Al Balushi revealed that Dr Saeeda bint Khater Al Farsi from the Sultanate of Oman received the "Cultural Personality of the Year" award. This prestigious honour, selected by the jury, acknowledges individuals with notable cultural and literary achievements in the Gulf region. Al Balushi emphasised the award’s role in reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a hub for female creative talent, offering women both support and a platform to present their literary work on a larger scale.
