Sharjah24: In line with its commitment to building strong partnerships within the local community, Al Dhaid Social Services Centre organised an awareness lecture in collaboration with the UAE Friends of the Elderly Association. The lecture, titled “Nurturing growth under inherited roots,” was delivered by Dr Saeed Obaid Al-Tunaiji, Vice President of the association, and attended by members of the Asala Club and the Al-Ilm Noor Centre.
The initiative formed part of the centre’s ongoing efforts to foster joint programmes with public benefit associations, with the aim of supporting senior citizens and enhancing their participation in community life. The lecture focused on the social and emotional contributions of older adults, encouraging deeper understanding and appreciation of their experiences and wisdom. The event also aimed to raise awareness among diverse community groups about the issues facing the elderly and how best to respond to their evolving needs.
