Sharjah 24: The Social Services Department (SSD) of Dibba Al Hisn has established the "Family Majlis" competition to promote family relationships during Ramadan. Over the course of four weeks, the program offers a variety of activities aimed at strengthening social and familial bonds.

Four weekly phases
The tournament is divided into four weekly periods, each with its theme and aim. The first week, dubbed 'Ramadan and Family,' focuses on strengthening family bonds and cultivating affection among members, capitalising on the spiritual ambiance of the holy month.
The second week, 'Innovative Projects,' invites participants to offer creative ideas that benefit both their families and the larger community, boosting innovative thinking.
In the third week, the "Ethics and Behaviour" phase tries to instil positive ideals and reinforce ethical behaviour that promotes social cohesiveness.
The fourth week of the tournament features "religious questions," which are aimed at increasing participants' religious consciousness and understanding of Islamic principles and values.

Community integration
In response to the initiative, Abdullah Subeian remarked that Ramadan is an excellent time to enhance family and societal relationships.
He stated that the department's goal with 'Family Majlis' is to instil positive and ethical values, encourage creativity, and develop religious awareness, thereby strengthening family togetherness and reflecting the Emirati community's sense of compassion and solidarity.
Subeian also praised the department's collaboration with the community, emphasising their commitment to social well-being and leveraging these events to increase community involvement.

Dr Maryam Al Mansoori, a social specialist and the competition's coordinator, described "Family Majlis" as a model programme that reinforces noble societal values while also encouraging families to spend the holy month establishing ties. The department has provided competition information on its social media platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp. To enhance community engagement, interested participants can send their contributions using the competition's contact number (0501075858).

Each phase will conclude with the selection of three winners who will receive valuable monetary and in-kind rewards. Al Mansoori underlined that "Family Majlis" is more than simply a competition; it is an invitation to enjoy the holy month as a time to enhance familial and social relationships while promoting principles that reflect the UAE's generous character.
