Sharjah24: Photographer Osama Elolemy, participating in the 9th edition of Xposure International Photography Festival, spoke about the harmony between humans and nature in Africa, despite the prevailing stereotype of the continent as poor. Through his work, he aims to showcase Africa's hidden world, focusing on simple life in all its details, which has become rare in the face of technological advancement and the rise of artificial intelligence.
Osama Elolemy presented a discussion session expressing his happiness in attempting to provide a different image of African countries that reflects the beauty of simplicity.
Elolemy explained that the photos exhibited in his Xposure booth tell stories of happiness and joy that Africans experience in their simple lives, highlighting the harmony between individuals and the land. These images present a different view of the continent, away from the stereotypes that focus on poverty and difficulties.
He also emphasised the importance of beginner photographers focusing on a specific type of photography and the goals they aim to achieve, asserting that specialisation and focus help develop skills and convey artistic messages more clearly and powerfully.
