SCC’s committee reviews roles and efforts of SDAD

Sharjah 24: The Education, Culture, Media and Youth Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) visited the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD) to learn about its roles in following up and supporting the parents councils of male and female students in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Ways to strengthen family-school relationships and enhance cultural and social activities

The meeting, which was held at the Muwailih Suburb Council headquarters, discussed ways to strengthen family-school relationships and enhance cultural and social activities, in addition to the role of parents councils in supporting education and the family, while emphasising the importance of communicating with the community and its institutions.

Attendance

The meeting was chaired by Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, Chairperson of the Committee, in the presence of members Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi, Committee Rapporteur, Kaltham Saif Al Tunaiji, Sheikha Khalfan Al Dhain Al Naqbi, Yousef Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Moza Muadhd Bin Huwaiden, in addition to Huda Al Hammadi, Committee Secretary.

The delegation was received by Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, with the participation of Dr. Abdullah Al Kabouri, Director of the Department, and Manea Al Darmaki, Director of the Parents Councils Department in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The attendees discussed the roles of the parents councils in Sharjah City, the Central Region, Khorfakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn, in addition to ways to enhance communication with educational authorities and public and private schools.

Appreciation

The committee affirmed its appreciation for the efforts made by the Department and its councils in supporting and developing the services provided to families and the community, stressing the importance of integrating roles between educational and community bodies to advance the educational process.

In the context of the discussions that took place, the importance of strengthening the relationship between families and schools was emphasised, as this relationship is pivotal in empowering students and supporting them in the educational process.

The focus was also on the role of parents councils in providing continuous support to students and their families, and achieving integration between education and the family.

The meeting also discussed the importance of cultural and social activities in schools, as an important means of developing students' personal and social skills. Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, pointed out the keenness of the department and the parents councils to develop a strong partnership between schools and families, which is a fundamental pillar for achieving students' success in various areas of life, noting the importance of continuing this cooperation between various parties and families to ensure a distinguished educational future for generations.

Sheikha Ali Al Naqbi, Chairperson of the Committee, in turn, pointed out the role of parents councils and their importance in enhancing community communication and building an interactive educational environment that develops students' capabilities and achieves the required interaction between educational institutions and families.
