Safia Al Sayegh wins silver in Asian Cycling Championship

Sharjah 24: Safia Al Sayegh earned a silver medal in the women’s individual time trial race at the Asian Road Championship in Thailand, contributing to the UAE's growing medal tally.

UAE's success at the championship

Competing in the 32.1 km race, Safia completed the course in 43:50 minutes, finishing just one minute behind gold medalist Yanin Kushkova from Uzbekistan. Japanese cyclist Tosiaka claimed third place. This silver medal brings the UAE's total to two, with Mohammed Al Mutawai winning the gold in the under-23 category on day one.

Upcoming races

Al Sayegh will also compete in the women’s individual race on February 15, marking the conclusion of her participation in the championship.

Youth cyclist’s performance

In addition, youth team member Youssef Amiri earned fourth place in the individual time trial for youth, marking a strong debut in his first Asian and international competition.
