During their meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, the two leaders discussed cooperation, particularly in the areas of development, economy, trade, and investment, with a focus on advancing shared development priorities and fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples for progress and prosperity.
Commitment to strengthening ties
The discussions also covered various issues of mutual interest, reaffirming both nations' commitment to strengthening cooperation for the benefit of their citizens. Both leaders emphasized the importance of continuing to build strong bilateral relations.
Exchange of honours
As part of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred the Order of Zayed, the UAE's highest decoration for heads of state, upon President Umaro Sissoco Embaló. This was in recognition of his efforts to enhance bilateral relations.
In return, President Embaló presented His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the Amílcar Cabral Medal, Guinea-Bissau’s highest honour, as a gesture of appreciation for his role in strengthening the ties between the two nations.
Attendance of senior officials
The meeting and the exchange of honours were attended by several senior UAE officials, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, and Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State.
