SDHR organises trip to Wheat Farm to enhance employees' awareness

Sharjah24: Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) organised an educational trip on Wednesday and Thursday, January 29 and 30, 2025, to the Wheat Farm operated by the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Al-Mleiha area. The aim was to enhance the employees' understanding of the importance of wheat cultivation and its role in achieving food security.

The wheat farm is part of the emirate's efforts to achieve food sustainability.

Understanding wheat cultivation

The trip targeted enhancing participants' understanding of the stages of wheat cultivation, including growth and production aspects. Attendees also explored the efforts made in the control room and the capabilities available in the modern technology laboratory, as well as learning about the role of water ponds in improving agricultural processes.

Comprehensive farm tour

The trip, organized in two groups, included a comprehensive tour of the farm, which was launched in 2022 to meet food needs. Employees were briefed on the modern technologies used in wheat farming, focusing on innovations that contribute to increasing agricultural production efficiency.

Engaging activities and positive interaction

At the end of the trip, employees participated in various educational and recreational activities held as part of the Wheat Festival in the employees' lounge. The event fostered a joyful atmosphere and positive interaction among employees, where ideas were exchanged about the importance of agriculture and its strategic impact on food security.

The department expressed its sincere gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and Livestock for their warm hospitality and the thorough explanations provided by the team, which contributed to enhancing employees' knowledge and enriching their field experience in wheat cultivation and the technologies used in it.
