Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the graduation ceremony of 303 government communication officials and content creators. The graduates completed five specialized programs organised by the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy in collaboration with various partners.

Event held during the 1 Billion Followers Summit

The ceremony took place during the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest summit dedicated to the content creator economy. The summit is organised by the UAE Government Media Office and is being held in Dubai from January 11 to 13, with participation from over 15,000 content creators and influencers, more than 420 speakers, and 125 CEOs and global experts.

Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks on the importance of digital communication

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid congratulated the graduates and emphasized the significance of digital media in shaping future trends. He stated, “In the UAE, we believe in the importance of investing in people and empowering local talent by equipping them with the tools of the future.” His Highness also highlighted the UAE’s success in becoming a major hub for digital transformation and the country’s commitment to advancing in digital media and content creation.

Graduation programmes and partnerships

The programmes included:

  • The Executive Diploma in Government Digital Communication, focusing on global best practices for government communication strategies.
  • The Preaching Content Creators programme, promoting tolerant Islamic values through digital content, supported by IACAD.
  • The Faris Al Muhtawa programme, which trained Arab content creators in digital content creation.
  • The Knowledge Makers programme, which saw 154 teachers and students create 5,000 educational video clips.
  • The Academic and Knowledge Content Creators programme, in partnership with UAE University, trained 36 participants in professional digital content creation.

The ceremony was attended by other prominent figures, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, among others.
