Sharjah,24: The Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) discussed, during its meeting held within the framework of the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term, its plans for visiting health institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, especially in the eastern and central regions of the emirate.

The meeting, held on Monday, at the Council’s headquarters in Sharjah, was chaired remotely by Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Chairman of the Committee, and was attended by members Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Committee’s Rapporteur; Dr. Ruqayya Rashid Al Zaabi; Issa Abdul Rahim Al Zarouni; Ali Salem Al Shamsi; Ahmed Salem Hamidi Al Ketbi, in addition to the Committee’s Secretary, Samia Jassim Mohammed.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed a set of strategic topics related to evaluating the quality of health services provided to citizens and residents in the Emirate of Sharjah.

It is worth noting that the Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee is continuously working to achieve its strategies aimed at supporting the health and social sectors by providing accurate and comprehensive recommendations based on field reports and specialised consultations.

Mohammed Saleh Al Ali stressed that visits aim to enhance dialogue with those in charge of health institutions, review the field challenges facing the health sector, and discuss ways to develop medical services in line with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah towards providing integrated health care.

Al Ali pointed out the importance of communicating with the administrative and medical teams working in these institutions, to monitor their experiences and suggestions on improving the quality of health work and raising the level of operational efficiency.

Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri stressed that these visits constitute a unique opportunity to enhance coordination between SCC and health authorities, in a way that supports the adoption of decisions and legislation that meet the health needs of the community.

For their part, the members praised the vital role played by health institutions in promoting community health, especially in the eastern and central regions that are seeing a tangible development in infrastructure and health services, noting that the discussions addressed a study of the geographical distribution of health facilities and the capabilities available in them, to provide appropriate support and ensure that services reach all residents of the emirate in an integrated manner.
