On Thursday, October 15, 2020, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, officially inaugurated Shees Park, marking the completion of an eight-month construction effort. His Highness’s clear vision and consistent guidance were pivotal throughout each phase, resulting in a remarkable project designed to enhance eco-tourism in Shees by offering first-class facilities and services. The park ensures visitors an unforgettable experience as they explore the scenic mountain landscapes.

Shees Park is a true reflection of Sharjah’s natural allure. Nestled in the heart of the imposing Hajar Mountains, the park offers a serene retreat for those seeking peace away from the city’s clamour. With its distinct architectural design and diverse amenities, it serves as a perfect family destination, offering a chance to unwind in nature’s embrace, especially during the cooler winter months. For adventure enthusiasts, the park’s surroundings present exceptional opportunities for camping and hiking, making it a magnet for mountain explorers.

Unforgettable journey at Shees Park: nature and fun in harmony

Shees Park, covering 11,300 square metres, showcases remarkable natural beauty. A striking 25-metre artificial waterfall plunges into a serene pond, flanked by stone pathways, creating a captivating and harmonious environment.

Among its features, a mountain walkway offers three scenic terraces linked by stone steps that ascend to the main observation platform, which rises 30 metres above the park. From this elevated vantage point, visitors can enjoy expansive views of the region’s natural wonders in comfort and safety.

To further enrich the visitor experience, the park includes 506 metres of mountain trails bordered by palm trees and local flora. Additional amenities feature a children’s play area, shaded spaces for relaxation and family gatherings, a barbecue area built to top safety and environmental standards, and an outdoor theatre with a 70-person capacity for events and performances.

Dominating the landscape amid the towering mountains is the Shees Park Mosque, completed in 2022 by the Initiatives Implementation Authority in Sharjah. This mosque, which accommodates 218 worshippers, is an architectural masterpiece inspired by regional eastern heritage, providing extensive facilities for both worshippers and visitors.

Complementing the park's offerings is a cafe that serves a selection of fresh pastries, cakes, and local sweets, allowing guests to savour a delightful meal while immersed in the park’s natural beauty.
