Sharjah 24: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted the draw for the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League 2, held at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The draw results for the West Zone revealed a clash between Sharjah, the group winners of Group C, and Al Hussein of Jordan, runners-up from Group D. Meanwhile, in another match, Al Ahli Dubai, top of Group D, will face Jordan’s Al Wehdat, who finished second in Group C.
In other West Zone matchups, Iran’s Tractor, the Group A winners, will meet Bahrain’s Al Khalidiya, runners-up from Group B. Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun, top of Group B, will face Qatar’s Al Wakrah, second from Group A.
For the East Zone, the draw saw Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Group E winners, take on Vietnam’s Nam Dinh, Group G runners-up. Singapore’s Lion City Sailors, top of Group F, will face Thai side Muangthong United, second in Group H. Thailand’s Bangkok United, Group G winners, will play Australia’s Sydney FC, runners-up from Group E. Finally, two-time AFC Champions League winners, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors from South Korea, will meet Thailand’s Port FC, Group F runners-up.
The Round of 16 matches will take place in February 2025, followed by the quarter-finals in March, the semi-finals in April, and culminating in the final—a one-match showdown on May 17.
